So How About That Doctor Who Season 7 Finale

WARNING: Spoilers. You have been warned.

Ok now I’ve been watching Doctor Who starting from the 9th Doctor to current, and throughout the years despite all the craziness, the stories still managed to make sense and follow a set of rules, even by breaking them yet without doing so. Wibbly wobbly, ok. Anyway, I just finished watching Steven Moffat’s ‘The Name Of The Doctor’ and I couldn’t have been more frustrated. Do we find out why Clara is the ‘Impossible girl’? Yes and no. Yes, she jumps into the Doctor’s time stream to save him but only to result in her imminent demise and be split and fragmented across the universe throughout time and space, leaving copies of herself to live their own ‘lives’. Moffat literally put her everywhere, which was ok at first, but then she is seen telling the first Doctor to steal a specific TARDIS when it was clearly mentioned in The doctor’s Wife episode, that the TARDIS stole herself a time lord  and the TARDIS was in a museum. Did that look like a museum in ‘The Name Of The Doctor’? I THINK NOT. The idea that Clara was the reason for The Doctor’s many decisions discredits him and makes him seem less clever and simply more lucky, which in some cases may be true but NOT EVERY TIME. Moffat promised a massive revelation in this episode. Clara was revealed why she is impossible, but not how she is even important to the doctor. The way he made it seem, everyone was thinking Clara was going to be the most important person to The Doctor since Rose, maybe more, only it was there and Clara had to remember and The doctor had to figure it out. Is that really it? ‘You’re my impossible girl.’ Oh, yeah, the doctor manages to SAVE clara by going into his own time stream which not only is just plain foolish, but IMPOSSIBLE. And I don’t mean simple impossible. I mean this literally CAN NOT HAPPEN in this show without dire consequences. And the whole ‘introducing John Hurt as The Doctor’ WTF. Not only did that bit seem tacky with the text coming up, but WTF. What. The Actual. FUCK. I will not accept any idea that the 11th doctor is not technically the 11th, or the 10th as the not 10th regeneration, and as his ‘greatest secret’, you’d expect it to be something going back further than the time way, WAY back, to the first doctor I’m talking.

Trenzalore, silence must fall when the question is asked. WHERE THE FUCK WERE THE SILENCE WE WOULDVE HAD CHECKMARKS ALL OVER OUR ARMS GAH YOUD THINK THEYD BE GUARDING IT OR SOME SHIT BUT NO THE DOCTOR JUST WALTZS RIGHT IN

Ok now The Great Intelligence, I have no complaints. His motives were fitting, he wanted revenge above anything else against the doctor, and invading his own time stream was a pretty wicked idea. I’ll give you that one, Moffat. It even had some good lines. But honestly. Clara jumps into the time stream and the Doctor immediately thinks ‘Oh hey I’ve got to save Clara even though she’s suppose to be dead but not because she’s impossible.’ Thanks for playing, but WRONG. She was only impossible because she died in multiple timelines and still existed elsewhere. It was revealed why that was in this episode, she’s no longer impossible, simply scattered. She is no more. The Doctor CAN’T SAVE HER. And certainly not by going into his own time stream, causing a paradox, and probably doing more damage than the GI did.

UNLESS…

MOFFAT YOU BETTER SEE THIS

That version of Clara was also just a copy. But a different one, not linked to this whole Trenzalore ordeal. Now just wait I’m getting to it. Here’s a revelation for you: Clara Oswin Oswald is the doctor’s original Wife. The Vey first woman he ever cared for. And also a time lord. Regenerated, respectively. A PRETTY BIG REVELATION DON’T YA THINK?

Here’s why it fits so perfectly:

Firstly, the whole thing about Clara’s clothes being significant, was not explained at all in this finale. She wore lots of red. Red symbolizes rebirth. Now what do time lords do when close to imminent death? REGENERATE. Gold stars for all of you.

The Doctor’s been through so much pain and loss, why not time to give something back? It would work with the TARDIS disliking Clara because if you think about it, she’s not impossible until she is at Trenzalore, why would the TARDIS have such a strong disliking to her?

Because she’s the doctor’s ACTUAL Wife.

TARDIS jealous much?

And how about that bit in ‘Hide’. “She’s a perfectly ordinary girl.” BECAUSE SHE WAS TURNED HUMAN LIKE WHEN THE DOCTOR BECAME ONE IN HUMAN NATURE THAT EXPLAINS HOW SHE CAN BE PERFECTLY ORDINARY

No human is perfectly ordinary. Not one.

Unless they aren’t suppose to be human, but have their genetic code rewritten, then it’s basically like a default, set to perfect. Perfectly ordinary human being Clara, coming right up!

With a side of fries.

The fact that they had that whole flirt thing going on. Come on, there had to be something to that. Subconsciously remerging feelings knowing he’s the doctor and her own husband, hmmmmm……

In Journey to the Center of the TARDIS, Clara discovers the history of the time war book.

Now wouldn’t that be in gallifreyan?

HOW DOES CLARA KNOW GALLIFREYAN???

Here’s the best part, I actually ran a little scenario through my mind on how the finale would turn out. You want a big finale?

Clara is actually stuck in the time war, and that is where the doctor must go to save her. Oh, but its impossible? Well clearly that ain’t no problem for Moffat, because apparently he just killed 2 people, but without causing them to die.

Ok really though, he is able to break into the time war and this could explain how The Master manages to find a way back to our timeline and universe.

Think about it.

We get to see the TIME WAR.

DALEKS

TIME LORDS

WAR

MASTER

EPIC

BIG

Isn’t that what we were promised, big? Massive?

Yes

And that ‘Run you clever boy, and remember…’ thing, would’ve been more effective if the doctor was running away from something in order to save Clara.

But no she just utters it like

‘Ok I have to say this because apparently I keep repeating it and it won’t make sense if I don’t say it’

I WAS SO MAD

ERG

Also might I point out no one really died except for the GI… I think. If The Doctor and Clara survived, couldn’t the GI?

Not everyone would be making it out alive.

Ok again, if you wanted big revelations, then it brings me great displeasure to inform you that someone besides The Doctor and Clara has to die.

RIVER DOES NOT COUNT. She’s already dead.

Anyway lets see if this can make more sense

There was no complete closure unlike previous finales have given you, I still feel like there’s more to Clara than we know, but at the same time that could really just be all and if so Moffat you disappoint me. For the first time ever. I never thought I’d be hating on a moffat episode, I really didn’t. But I am, and apparently 2013 is a year of firsts. Why Moffat, what happened here honestly are you ok?

I will probably get a few hates on this post, not many since no one ever reads what I have to say, which is ok I guess. Do I love Doctor Who? Of course. I love it enough to say this episode has ruined quite a lot of potential story arcs that could’ve been orchestrated beautifully and that this episode should be taken back at once and the ending rewritten. I enjoyed most of it, right up to the bit where the doctor jumps into his own time stream. Then when John hurt comes on, that killed it for me because THE ENDING WAS SO SHADY LIKE OK WHO IS THIS GUY WHY NOT INTRODUCE THE MASTER INSTEAD

Oh yeah.

Benedict cumberbatch. If he’s not the master, I will be sorrowfully disappointed in you moffat. SORROWFULLY

More should have been revealed in this episode. Literally, we got maybe 2 things. Not even. That doesn’t change the course of Doctor Who forever. HOW DOES IT. HOW.

Does anyone understand why I’m even saying? Agree with me? I hope I can find at least someone who does, otherwise I’ll be an outcast to whovians all over and feel like I’m not getting the memo.

Also apologies for any spelling mistakes. I have not slept yet and I should have fallen asleep 6 hours ago.

PS. What ever happened to that really great line?

“Hello again, how’s the intelligence, still great?”

MOFFAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
