Many of us were excluded, lonely and depressed before we joined any fandoms. We found refuge in the stories and comfort in the characters. We found people with similar interests and gained friends who understood and sympathized with us. When the stories hurt us we found solace in the fact that we are not alone in feeling this way. In many ways to many people these stories saved our lives. Some might have been pointing towards suicide, but maybe the Doctor and his story stopped some. That’s what matters, because we owe these stories our life. We owe it to the Doctor, the Winchesters, the Avengers and whatever fandom you might be in. They’re always there and always will be even when all others abandon us. I can honestly say that I was in deep depression before I started watching Doctor Who and the story very much pulled me from that place and changed who I am, made me who I am today. The 14,000 notes on this post show that I am not alone and none of us are.

Unhealthy is to reblog skinny and tanned girls like it’s a religion

My alternate revisions to certain films

Out of boredom, here are a few films I feel could have been different or a little… more. Not necessarily meaning they’re all bad, just a few missed opportunities is all. Please note of spoilers in case you haven’t seen any of these films, the titles are bold, don’t read past that title if you don’t want to be spoiled:

SKYFALL (2012)

Ok am I the only one who felt Javier Bardem was not used enough in this one? He was an EXCELLENT Bond villain but regrettably underused. In my revised version, the opening does happen where Bond is shot and assumed dead, and for the next 3 months he does live the good life, that is until Silva’s goons catch James off guard and take him hostage. (He’s been out of practice for 3 months now, even he wouldn’t expect it) We then skip to the scene where Bond first meets Silva and carry on from there, Severine works her way into the story too, but this is a mere summary, I am simply stating the main focus is Silva vs. Bond. Also, they should of had a real nice kick ass epic fight at the end instead of Bond just stabbing Silva, like in the Skyfall building while it’s ablaze, and we can even have his mouth plate come out so he really looks creepy as Bond takes him down. Maybe a helicopter fight in the middle of the film as well. Yeah.

SOURCE CODE (2011)

Ok now this was a great film. I can even accept the ending sorta kinda but it was a bit too, well, awkward. He takes over the rest of the guys life? What happens to the original guy before Colter takes his place in the last 8 minutes of ‘his’ life? Instead, we leave everything as is until the very end when Colter saves everyone, and right before he’s suppose to ‘die’ because his 8 minutes are up, we cut back to his own life, when he was flying in Afghanistan, 8 MINUTES before he was supposedly killed. This allows him to adjust his own timeline and save not only his friends, but this time himself, putting him in a new ‘alternate’ reality in which he lives on as himself, with his body intact, and maybe manages to track down Christina before the film ends. That way he can be himself now instead of assuming the identify of another man, literally.

Mission: Impossible Ghost Protocol

Really everything was good, but a more memorable villain would have been nice. That’s it pretty much.

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES (2011)

Ok this one is full of SO very many problems, but let’s just cut to the main bit, the characters motives and intentions. Barbossa should’ve wanted the fountain of youth just as badly as blackbeard, so that he could regain his leg. There wasn’t even an epic 3 way swordfight between Barbossa, Captain Jack and Blackbeard. Hell, THERE WASN’T EVEN A FIGHT BETWEEN JACK AND BLACKBEARD. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. So, yeah, also the Phillip and Serenya thing was unnecessary, will and elizabeth had their story, now it’s Jack’s turn.

SHERLOCK HOLMES: A GAME OF SHADOWS (2011)

Despite how excellent a pick Jared Harris was for Moriarty, he didn’t get to deliver. I wanted Sherlock Holmes to be clever, dark, and include unexpected twists every which way. This was just a muddled mess of meh. How about the first time holmes meets Moriarty is when he doesn’t meet him. Ok let me explain: Holmes and Watson are on the train but instead of avoiding henchmen, they’re on the train because Holmes believes moriarty intends to do something to it. Sure enough, we find an older man Holmes doesn’t recognize, in a private coach, wired with explosives and what not, with a pressure sensor similar to that from the auction house scene. Despite Holmes attempts, he can’t seem to free the man, when this is said:

Holmes: I must apply my apologies and severe condolences, as it appears there is no possible way for me to connivence your freedom, at least not if you wish to remain alive for much longer.

Old man: You tried your best, Mr. Holmes.

Holmes: I have avoided every possible picture for the newspaper, I’ve never encountered you before, personally or professionally, and I never even said my name to you, how can you possibly know it…? unless…

Old man: Now, Mr. Holmes Tell me, do you know by chance, what the worst kind of antagonist might be?

Begins pulling off what appears to be a mask and some makeup.

Reveals himself for who he truly is.

Moriarty: The one who’s right in front of you.

Holmes shocked slightly.

Moriarty: I would very much like to thank you for your good service in returning to me, what is rightfully mine…

Moriarty: Such inconveniences can only delay, but never fully cease, my plans. (Pauses) And another thing, Mr. Holmes; even though I may not be a hostage, do not be disappointed…

Pulls out a trigger, pushes a button and throws it out the window.

Moriarty:… Because this train just became one.

Then we have an epic train chase and fight, and the front brakes blow up so the train can’t stop. It would be so cool!! Or do I only think this? Then there could’ve been the epic chess game, but in the Eiffel tower instead. COME ON, IT’S TOO PERFECT. Also, this would correct the ambiguousness that was left on the true fate of Irene, I don’t really believe Moriarty’s word, just saying…

I’m sorry, this one just hurt me the most because I really expected a LOT from this one. Sherlock Holmes Vs. Professor Moriarty is one of the most sacred rivalries since Batman Vs. Joker

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES (2012)

Now don’t get me wrong, this one was entertaining, but in no way up to par with it’s previous 2 predecessors in regards to story telling and slightly production as well. The bane voice was just a bit too distorted, still. Catwoman should NOT have been played by Anne Hathaway, and every time I see her portray the part on screen I’m sorry but I just cringe. Now, regarding final confrontations with the villains we had a train fight in begins, a building fight in dark knight, so naturally there should have been a plane fight with Batman vs bane, and the Taila Al Ghul bit seemed a little forced. No disrespect to Marion, I just wished this was all handled better, also 8 fucking years after the events from dark knight, with no batman in between… are you fucking kidding me?

Iron Man 2 (2010) & Iron Man 3 (2013)

The second one is easy, more screen time with Iron man vs whiplash. The third one, BEN KINGLY AS THE MANDARIN NOT HIM TURNING OUT TO BE JUST SOME PATHETIC ACTOR RIPOFF.

Star Trek: Into Darkness (2013)

More screentime with Benedict Cumberbatch, not just him pretending to be helping Kirk and then revealing himself. We already know he’s evil, there was no twist, you can’t fool me. Get to the action part already. There was too much talking and sentimental conversations. Also I kinda died a little when Spock said ‘KAAHHHHHNNNN’. NO. That part is sacred for Wrath of Kahn. It hasn’t happened yet, this is merely their first encounter, not their last. I want Kirk to fight Kahn, NOT SPOCK. No disrespect though I like them both.

The Bourne Legacy (2012)

What’s it missing? MATT FUCKING DAMON. That is all, other than that, movie shouldn’t have been made.

A GOOD DAY TO DIE HARD (2013)

I can’t even save this one, there was no good or entertaining parts to it, we scrap the russia storyline. How about, we just scrap this film all together and end with Live Free Or Die Hard, ok?

Well that’s the ones I obsess over the most. A good storyline has entirety, closure, consistency, even a few reprises and makes you feel as if you don’t need another film to be made from this series, because it already feels complete. A good film also has good acting, a brilliant script, special effects, and even hopefully, good music. I’ve noticed a decline of movie quality lately, especially around 2010 to current. Hollywood, what’s wrong with you, are you ok?
